Background & Profile
Research Scholar in Theoretical and Experimental Mechanics of Composite Materials in finite deformation.
Biography
I am SHIVAM, a Research Scholar in the Department of Civil Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, India. I am originally from Ghaziabad and currently reside in IIT Roorkee, Roorkee(Haridwar), India.
My research focuses on the theoretical and experimental mechanics of composite materials, particularly fiber-reinforced laminate composites subjected to large deformation loading conditions. My work combines theoretical modeling, numerical simulations, and experimental investigations to understand damage evolution, failure mechanisms, and structural behavior in advanced composite systems.
I am deeply interested in solid mechanics, fracture and damage mechanics, composite materials, multi-continuum modeling, and multidisciplinary engineering research. My long-term goal is to contribute to the advancement of composite material mechanics through research that bridges theoretical understanding and practical experimentation.
Outside academics and research, I enjoy gardening and playing chess, which helps me maintain creativity, focus, and strategic thinking.
